CPFPA Wards
The Sarah Baartman West FPA (SBW FPA) was formed in 2016 with the aim to contribute to the development of communities by eliminating loss of life and human injury in veldfires and by progressively reducing impacts on property and environmental values while promoting the useful role of veldfires. The Association, therefore, aims to always manage all high risks as soon as possible and intends on continuing to educate its members about better fire management.

The Sarah Baartman West Fire Protection Association (hereafter called the Sarah Baartman West FPA), falls within the Sarah Baartman District Municipality and the Kouga, Koukamma, Dr Beyers Naude Local Municipality and partly in the Sundays River Local Municipality.

The Sarah Baartman West FPA covers 806 255 HA.

The area covered by SBW FPA has an all-year fire risk as well as an all year rainfall season. This is predominantly a fynbos region, together with commercial forestry plantations and commercial farming operations.
